Try something different during your stay in Marrakech and take to the skies to enjoy a balloon flight close to the Imperial Red City. You’ll be in safe hands with an experienced pilot who’ll show you the beauty of Morocco’s dramatic landscapes against a backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. Just one hour from the legendary Djemaa el Fna square discover the amazing contrast that exists between the town and the surrounding countryside on a Marrakech hot air balloon flight.

Depart from your hotel early in the morning, between 0500 and 0630 (depending on season). For aero logical reasons, the flights always occur very early in the morning. The time of departure will be specified at the time of your reservation.

The balloon flight itself lasts a minimum of an hour depending on the region whilst the whole excursion takes about 5 hours. This includes the preparation and inflation of the balloon in the open air, plus a traditional breakfast and the return journey by land-rover with the ground crew.

Pilots are highly qualified and accredited with the Moroccan and European civil aviation authority.

Balloons go with the wind; the pilot can only control the altitude of the balloon by heating the inside of the envelope with the burners. Stability in the air is necessary as well as a slight wind and a mild temperature. The only way to get all these conditions is to take off just after sunrise. Happily, dawn is one of the most beautiful times of the day!

ITINERARY

0500 Pick-up from riad or hotel. Time may vary by up to 1 hour 30 mins depending on season. 1 hour balloon flight up to 1000m altitude.

1000 Drop-off and end of tour.

Minimum 2 people on all flights.

Be aware that flights may be cancelled if weather conditions are not suitable for flying.

To take your camera and some warm clothes for early mornings before the sun rises.

PRICES PER PERSON

Children up to 4 years old are free of charge. Children from 5 to 10 usually receive 50% discount on price.

PRICE INCLUDES

Pick-up/drop-off from your hotel or riad with 4x4 transfers to/from balloon departure point; breakfast; souvenir flight certificate; Moroccan tea; Berber breakfast in Moroccan tent; limited liability insurance.

PRICE EXCLUDES

There may be a small additional transport charge for pick-up/drop-offs at accommodation outside of Marrakech medina, Hivernage or Gueliz; tips; personal risk insurance; extras not included.

PAYMENT

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable to confirm your flight. The 75% balance is payable before flight departure, at the operating base of our licenced balloon operator. Debit or credit cards or cash are accepted.
